Happiness, Spirituality, and the Grit to Make a Pearl

A terrorist attack occurred at a Tunisian beach resort in front of a hotel with many tourists. As the firing begins a man tells his girlfriend to run to the hotel. He stands between his girlfriend and the terrorists preventing them from shooting her and as he blocks her he is shot. He survives and is taken to hospital where he recovers. His girlfriend is safe.

When the terrorists appear and the shooting started he is unlikely to have been thinking happy thoughts. What feelings he had I wouldn’t want to guess as I’m not him. What he did though was to spontaneously save his girlfriend even if it meant he could have been injured or killed. Silly question this, but as he was shot would he have been likely to have been thinking and feeling happiness? How about pain? At that moment he hadn’t been thinking about his happiness or that it was important to be happy. He was prepared to sacrifice himself.

He was prepared to do what he felt to be right. Likely if he hadn’t and if his girlfriend had been shot he may have regretted not saving her for the rest of his life, But that is just a guess, as I’m not that man.

Sometimes, there are more important things in life than being happy. At least in the moment, in the short-term. If someone sacrifices themselves and lives, then for the rest of their life, in the background, there is a sense of peace within themselves that they did the right thing.

What makes people happy is doing the right thing at the right time.

That is one aspect of happiness, anyway, and actually happiness is a complex issue.

It is a spiritual truth that God is in all of us. That means that love, peace and happiness are within us all. In all lives. But then, why aren’t people always happy, and instead can be terribly depressed, or angry, or addicted, or the victim of abuse or crime, or they can be in pain, or filled with unsatisfied desires.

There are some so-called spiritual teachers who would claim that someone who isn’t happy is doing something wrong, and they are making the wrong choices with their thoughts. But then, what they say is merely their opinion based on what they know. (Also this piece of writing is merely my opinion based on what I know.)

We have many, many lives and in all these lives the soul gets to learn through a vast amount of different experiences. The soul grows in consciousness of itself in this epic spiritual journey. As it does this, the soul realises what it isn’t, until the wonderful point where it realises what it is (usually with the helpful input of someone who has already reached and gone past that point).

The soul builds and balances karma as it goes through these lives. The karma generates the experiences that the soul goes through and learns through. The soul extends part of itself into Life and as its spirit grows and is refined, in each of the human lifetimes, it also has a personality to do the experiencing. The soul can wear a different personality for each different lifetime. During that lifetime the personality evolves and changes over time as it learns from Life.

The experiences, at least from the personality point of view, can be good or what we often think of as bad (painful, upsetting, disappointing and so on). To the soul, which has part of itself in time and most of itself outside time, it is just experience.

So in some lives, there will be a lot of happiness. In other lives, due to the karma and also how the personality reacts to the experiences, there won’t be much happiness experienced, and the emotions experienced will be what the soul needs for its learning and development, like the grit in the pearl. For the soul, being happy all the time isn’t the goal. The goal is to have a vast range of experiences and emotions, and grow through that, and arrive at the Goal, in which there is happiness, though it really is a Divine state of Love.

So if you are experiencing the grit, that is OK, though I appreciate you would rather be experiencing happiness, and it might not be much consolation that your soul is doing OK.

Now, having read all of that you know more than many so-called spiritual teachers!

If you aren’t experiencing happiness, your soul might be OK with this, though it will also be quite fine with becoming happy.

It isn’t wrong to experience all kinds of emotions other than happiness. It is natural and normal for humans to experience emotions. It is part of being human.
What is unnatural is to try to block emotions and try to force a state of calm because of the deluded idea that being calm and continually happy is a spiritual goal. It isn’t. Even when you are experiencing intense emotions the very core of you, where God is, is experiencing Love and peace. It can never leave you.

Emotions are energy that is supposed to flow. Suppressing emotions because someone tells you inner peace and happiness is what you have if you are “spiritual” (or their version of spiritual at any rate), is an unhealthy thing to do. Emotions can be like fuel to actually help along the spiritual journey if allowed to move and be expressed in the right way. Mind you, emotions can also be destructive to others and self if expressed in a negative or inappropriate way, and slow down the spiritual journey. But suppressing and stifling them is also unhelpful.

I came across a story about a woman in India whose husband had died. She was trying to put a brave face on matters. She was known to a spiritual person called Meher Baba (means compassionate Father) and she visited him. She was smiling, holding it all in, trying to be happy in front of her Master, as being happy is generally the thing to do to keeps ones’ energy up. Generally, but not always. Meher Baba knew her husband had died, and he spoke to her about her husband and his death in a way that got her to feel what she was holding inside. The tears flowed, the emotions flowed. Meher Baba wanted her to know that it was important to allow her feelings to flow, as this would lead over time to a new equilibrium and a sense of a new happiness.

Humans are amazing in that they have emotional energy which they can experience, and this energy can inspire great things, and be the fuel to create great things.

Emotions that are suppressed can literally get stuck in the body, and the body is like a recording device. Emotions can be held in the body for many decades, and bubble up to the surface after years, along with the memory of the events they are associated with.

It is understanding emotions and knowing how to deal with them which can be one way of becoming happy.

Emotions can be self-generated. If we have a positive personality in this life to learn from, we can have a positive perspective on life and think positive thoughts, leading to happy emotions and a glowing aura as well. If we have a “negative” personality to learn from in this lifetime, well we get to learn to overcome that if we can, and learn to appreciate, to praise, to be grateful, and to forgive.

Some lives we have, it can be very hard to experience happiness. For instance, if there is depression, painful physical illness, or mental illness. Dealing with the emotions and physical and mental pain can take a lot of effort. But humans have the capacity to do what they need to do and persevere. Spiritual sound bites about happiness don’t work in these cases, and if there is going to be some kind of helpful intervention, it needs to be compassionate, long-term, and given with an understanding of the person and what they are going through.

Say if someone has been through a terrible experience and has PTSD, the negative energy of the experience is in their aura, and the emotional energy is in their system as well, perhaps on continual loop, so its effects are constantly being experienced. It can take time and help to remove this energy and the emotions to allow in more happiness.

If someone has experienced a breakdown of some sort or an intense mental illness, their aura can be shattered. They can be very tired and happiness comes in small moments. It can take time, rest, love and support for healing to happen.

Then there are other issues where life can be a constant battle to stay positive and for life to go on. For instance, with addictions. Survival, and happiness has to be literally fought for, for an addiction to be overcome.

It is not unusual to hear that to be spiritual and therefore happy we have to be desireless. People can react to this kind of comment in different ways, and it can be an ego thing eg “I have less desires than you therefore I’m more spiritual”. Or, “Oh no, I have desires, so I’m not spiritual. Quick get rid of them.” Fun and games.

But remember in different lives we have different karma. We do have lives where we desire to have lots of things such as money, power and possessions. It’s just experience. Then we get lives where we desire little. At some point we have lives where desires mean nothing to us, we are just not interested in them and put no energy into them. So if you have a big multi-million dollar yacht right now, enjoy it while you can.

There are some humans who have intense desires. They have an intensely fierce desire God. Their love and desire for God are extreme and they constantly have their inner eye fixed on God. These people are called masts (pronounced “musts”). Their desire draws God’s energy to them so that they have a huge energy field, and are like spiritual generators. They often are unaware of their external circumstances because the only important thing to them is God. They are God intoxicated. They live totally for God. Of course, they get looked after and aided on the inner planes along their spiritual journey.

There are different routes to God, and like the masts, some of those routes involve having desires, though not so intoxicating or intense. As previously mentioned, in some lives, having desires is what needs to be experienced. If you want to think about desires of a spiritual orientation, you can have the desire to love and support others. These others could be a partner, or a relative, or children, or friends or strangers who you don’t know yet, or animals or the environment. If the desire has love in it like this, then it has a spiritual basis, and as mentioned before, life is about doing the right thing at the right time, so being true to yourself and doing that is better than listening to other people’s opinions about what they think you have to do to be spiritual.

In what other ways can happiness come about?

This list is just contains a number of suggestions:

Do what feels to be the right thing at the right time.

Say the right thing at the right time.

Be true to yourself and think about things. Don’t take other people’s opinions as gospel (not even this; think about it!)

Learn to trust your heart, and trust your feelings.

Develop your third eye and intuition (helpful for looking at people’s heart centres so you then know who to trust).

Be around people who encourage you, and who will also tell you if they think you aren’t on the right track.

Look after your health. Do what you need to do to be healthy.

Do loving things for yourself; love yourself.

Be kind to yourself; eg. hot chocolate, nights off, and relaxing.

Do loving things for others; love others.

Let yourself receive; learn to receive.

Appreciate yourself! And others.

Forgive yourself. And others.

Spend time with people you love.

Know that you have talents and interests. Find these and use then and do them.

Be in places you enjoy. See sights you enjoy. Listen to sounds you enjoy.

Be out in Nature.

Learn new things, take steps outside your boundaries. Keep growing.

Do the things that make you happy, now and in the long term.

Remember God.

The Planes of Consciousness, and their link to meditation

We live and have our being in this physical reality, which is part of Creation. As a soul when we incarnate in Creation for the very first time, we drop down from the Divine levels where we experienced Divine Light.

There are levels or planes of consciousness in Creation, in fact there are seven planes. The zeroth plane (0th) has the lowest level of consciousness, and as we go through the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th planes of consciousness, the level of consciousness increases. So the bottom of the zeroth plane, where souls come into Creation for the first time, has the very lowest level of consciousness. The top of the 6th plane has the highest level of consciousness in the 6th plane.

A soul comes into creation at the bottom of the zeroth plane and spends time as a mineral, as rock, and has the consciousness of a rock. After a while, the soul comes out of that existence, and goes into the experience of being a different kind of rock with a very minute increase in consciousness. So time and time again, the soul has different experiences in the mineral kingdom, going through different rock forms and then metal forms, and each time has a very minute increase in consciousness. This goes from 0.0 to 0.2 on the zeroth plane.

At about 0.2, the soul then comes out of the mineral kingdom, and starts on the many lifetimes in the plant kingdom, as some form of plant life. There is a pattern of a plant dying and the soul coming out of one form of plant life, to go into another form of plant life. On and on the soul goes through the plant kingdom, each time experiencing a very minute increase in consciousness and awareness. The plant kingdom goes from the 0.2 level of consciousness to the 0.4 level. As the soul experiences a death for the last time in the plant kingdom, the soul moves on to take a form in the animal kingdom.

The animal kingdom goes from 0.4 to 0.6, and the physical forms or bodies in this kingdom can support a higher level of consciousness and awareness than the plant form. (The kinds of forms in the animal kingdom change over time, which shows up as animals becoming extinct and new animal forms coming into existence. This happens to provide the right physical vehicle for the soul to experience Life and to support the soul’s level of consciousness. Everything changes.)

After many lives building consciousness on the zeroth plane, the soul has a first life as a human on the 1st plane of consciousness.

The quality of astral light, and mental light is quicker and a bit brighter on the 1st plane than the zeroth plane. The level of consciousness is higher than on the first plane.

After plenty of lives on the 1st plane of consciousness, the soul, now in human form, has a first life on the 2nd plane. The astral and mental light on the second plane is brighter than on the 1st plane. Also there is less astral light and more mental light, and the consciousness is quicker.

Physically it isn’t possible to say what plane someone is by looking at their body. It is all in the energy, and level of consciousness. Nor is there an obvious link to the job or role someone has in everyday life.

After enough lives on the 2nd plane of consciousness, the person dies and their soul moves on to form another human body and this time they are on the 3rd plane of consciousness. The level of Light and consciousness is higher on the 3rd plane than the second. There is little astral light and more mental light.

After more and more lives, a person will have lives on the 4th, then the 5th and in the 6th plane of consciousness. These are the mental planes of consciousness as there is only mental light and no astral light. The Light on these different planes have different qualities which show up in the inner lives and sometimes outer lives of the people on these planes. The Light on the sixth plane is dazzlingly bright. In these planes there is inner awareness of God.

At some point, a person near the top of the 6th plane will become God Realized with the help of a Perfect Master usually on the inner planes. Their consciousness then goes through a massive change so their consciousness is on the Divine levels.

This is all a very brief description of the planes of consciousness which all souls go through (so it isn’t about one soul being considered better than another soul as it is a journey all souls go on).

People on the different planes have different inner qualities to each other and will require different experiences. Usually souls / people build up karma through the 0th, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd planes of consciousness and then attempt to balance it all in the 4th, 5th and 6th.

All souls will radiate out energy and Light, and often this is to contribute energy and to offer something that has a healing effect which can help move other souls along. Take singers for instance. There are some singers on the 1st plane whose light and energy can have a positive effect on people on the zeroth plane. But not on people on the 2nd plane and above. There are a few singers on even the 5th plane who can sing and as their energy and Light goes out to the listeners, people on the 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st and 0th plane can be positively affected.

The same goes for musicians, artists, TV presenters, teachers, writers, people involved in films and so on. Everyone interacts with everyone else. (Healers and those with a spiritual teacher role will similarly effect others on lower planes than themselves, but not those on higher planes. Also, because someone is a healer or spiritual teacher does not mean to say they are on a high plane, and it is important to dispel that particular glamour.)

When a person meditates, they are in their aura, and so in their energy field. Some auras are bigger than others. But also, say if you are on the second plane, a meditation teacher on the 1st plane won’t be providing you with an energy field that can take you up. A meditation teacher on the 3rd plane or higher can do that, and the experience you have will be different to trying to meditate with a first plane teacher (who would be good for people on the zeroth plane). This applies to online meditation as well as meditation in the same physical location. Now if you get to meditate with someone like a Perfect Master, or someone who has a Perfect Master on the inner planes overshadowing them, or if they have an active Divine guide, then the sky’s the limit.

(This is just a very brief description of the planes of consciousness and what people are like on those planes and what their inner experiences are like, and how, like those on the 5th and 6th planes, affect everyone else on the planet. If you want to know more I would suggest checking out God Speaks by Meher Baba, which is now also available as a pdf download if you look online. This book is the go-to source, and also has a very nice energy (watch out!).)

Death, Emotions and Reincarnation

Recently a friend from long ago died. I could see them up in the inner planes bright and sparkly, happy and thrilled at how they looked energetically. They were staying around, showing those of their friends and family who could see them how marvellous they looked and how happy they were.

And then, it was onwards to the next part of their adventure in the grand journey of Life.

Knowing them as I did, I knew they considered themselves as a soul with spirit, in a physical body. They thought of death as a transition and they knew about reincarnation.

For people who have such an outlook, death is just another step on the journey. The soul and spirit doesn’t die, it goes on. Those left behind who have this outlook can appreciate this and sometimes see the person who has died move on. This gets mixed in with the feelings of loss for those people who were close, as that person is no longer there, and a big part of their lives is gone.

In my own experience recently, two other people died and came close by on the inner planes basically glowing, and looking so radiant, saying their goodbyes before heading off. What helped is that they appreciated that death was a transition onto the inner planes, so there was no fear, anger, or trauma. Nor did they desperately try to hang on in a body that was too ill. Emotionally, they were at peace.

Emotions are important in death. Many years ago I had a sense that a much-loved elderly relative, was going to die, and they had about four months to live. I felt some preparation would help. They were still a bit active and mobile. They weren’t particularly religious or spiritual. They were kind and tried to be thoughtful in how they lived, which is pretty much a spiritual quality. I came across a book that would help me prepare.

In the 1980’s there was a book published called “The Tibetan book of living and dying” by Sogyal Rinpoche. In it there was a description of the Buddhist concept of the Bardo states. In Christian thinking there is the concept of heaven and hell, where souls go depending on whether the person has been “good” or “bad”, according to what other people determine is good and what is bad.

The Bardo states are more nuanced. There are several levels to them. There are several levels to the pleasant Bardo states, and there are several levels to the unpleasant going from the mildly depressing to the hellish. What determines where a soul goes is what they have done and the karmic consequences of that, and what the soul/person needs to go through to deal with those consequences, and also to deal with the energy of their emotions during dying, during leaving their physical body.

So if a person dies having being good overall, and they are happy and at peace, they go onto a positive level of the Bardo states for a while. If a person dies and has been negative in what they have done in their lives, they go onto an unpleasant Bardo states to repeatedly re-experience their actions to wear out the energy of that. Also, if a person is angry or fearful about their death, they go to a Bardo state to wear out that emotional energy before moving on. The same goes for feelings of addictions, they hang around on a Bardo state re-experiencing those sensations until they are used up.

The Buddhist concept of the Bardo states seems like a good explanation of what happens after death.

With regards to preparation, the Buddhists have prayers to prepare someone for death. These prayers clear any negative energy and provide positive emotional energy to alleviate any fear or anger at the time of death. The result is the person goes onto a positive Bardo state when they die. Prayers done properly and with focus are like light-filled words propelled by a loving intention, to bring about a positive change or situation.

I said the prayers for my relative daily for a couple of months, until it felt like time to stop. When the much-loved relative died I felt there to be a lot of peace about the death, and that they were happy with where they now were. For myself, I just felt a warm happiness for them rather than a sense of loss, as if the prayers I had done over time had worked on me, too.

With the recent deaths, for myself and for the friends who had died, there was the appreciation that death is just a transition and a part of the on-going journey of Life. We also held the concept of reincarnation, so we knew we had had many lives, and there were more to come, and we had died and been born many times. So what is there to worry about?

The best explanations of the reincarnation process and why it happens that I came across was by someone called Meher Baba. I found that understanding something of the reincarnation process stopped death from being a finality. I see it now as a transition we have done many times. I also found learning about reincarnation helped me to understand more of the big picture of what Life is all about. But that is another story.

About Death

Death is a massive topic. We have all died countless times, and there is usually huge fear in people about dying. There is a lot of healing and change to occur so that we even begin to see death as a state to go through onto the next life.

Death happens this way:

The soul usually withdraws its energy and awareness from the lifeform as it is time to move onto the next part of the journey. Sometimes the physical elemental in the physical body fights this, and holds onto the energy. Usually the heart stops and the centres close down and the soul leaves the physical body.

Before death, the third eye centre can be seen to close down in preparation. The start of this closing down can be days before. The timing is based on karma. With karma, there are three kinds. There is positive, negative and opportunistic karma. With the opportunistic karma, events can go either way; negative or positive. So some deaths are opportunistic rather than the other kinds of karma. The third eye will show the probability of death, and can reopen if the opportunistic event has gone positive. Close shaves can be like this. A death can be positive karma, as the person has fulfilled all of their karma for that lifetime, and the soul withdraws its energy so the spirit of the person can have a deserved rest on the inner planes, an esoteric cup of tea, a review of events in that lifetime, and a meet up with old friends. They then can reincarnate into their next lifetime with a new set of karma to work through.

I’ve written this in a matter of fact way. With most deaths, there is a lot of emotion. Spiritually, we can know what is happening, but the emotions are something different. For the person dying, there is often fear, even though they have done this millions of times before. The people around them often don’t want them to go. When the person does die they are badly missed by those still living, those still physically incarnate. There is grief and loss in the minds of those left behind.

When we have a connection with someone, there are energetic cordings between us and the other person, from our centres to theirs. The stronger the relationship, the stronger the cordings. When the other person leaves, the cordings start to drop away. If the other person dies, there are no centres for the cordings to get attached to. This can be traumatic on a personality level. Grief ensues.

The person dying usually sees the light and as that is so amazing in comparison to what they experience in a physical body, off they go. Sometimes the grief and the emotional attachment of those left behind binds the spirit and soul in the space around the earth making them earthbound. This is not a pleasant or ideal situation for the person who has dropped their body as they are trapped and stopped from doing what they need to. These souls need to be rescued and released, so they can move on (this is rescue work). For many people, if they were generally happy, their spirit and soul gets to reside for a while in an energetic space that matches that positive emotional nature, where it is re-experienced and drains away. This space was known about by the Buddhists who thought of it as a positive bardo state. In Christianity it is called heaven. If someone’s general state was fear, or anger, or other negative state, the soul and spirit would go to a space that matched this and helped to draw the emotions out for a while so the soul can go off to the next lifetime with a clean slate. The Buddhists think of this state as a negative bardo state, and in Christianity it would be called hell.

When it comes to people we have a relationship with of some sort in this lifetime, usually we have had at least a few lifetimes with them in some sort of relationship such as friend, enemy, sibling, parent, son / daughter of, wife / husband, extended family member, and so on. We will have known them before. It’s likely we will see them again in future lifetimes, too, as there are karmic links. So death ends that well known link for now, but you get to see them again.

When out of physical body, being physically alive as opposed to being a soul and spirit on the inner planes, is not the big deal we make of it when we are in a physical body. We know there is more to that existence, we have it more in perspective. Physical life is a way of learning and developing through many lifetimes to become what we can be, which is a soul on the Divine Journeys, but knowing much more, and being more, than a soul who has not made the journey down into creation and back into the Divine.

Reincarnation is part of that process. Some distant day in the future we may understand that when someone dies that soul is going on the next part of their journey.

In the West, there are people who request funerals that are more upbeat and more of a celebration of that person and their life, rather than being a solemn affair. I do wonder how they will be when we really come to terms with reincarnation.

God’s plan for peace and harmony

As the twentieth century ended and the twenty first century started as the calendar went into 2000, there was a worldwide sense that everything was going to get better and there would be peace and prosperity for all and there would be more harmony. That is what a lot of people thought, and did it happen?

There is a massive difference between what humanity thinks and what happens spirituality. Another way of saying this is that humanity doesn’t understand life in a spiritual way. There is a lot of religion, but that is old bits of information, which tends to be interpreted in the ways that people want to interpret them.

Most human thinking is driven by desire. Desire to be “safe” and comfortable, have enough food (which can be different to nutrition), have money and in some cases huge amounts of money, and have things go on in predictable ways without too many challenges, and often have things happen around them the way they want things to happen. People like to stay in their comfort zone.

Harmony and peace are part of God’s plan for this planet and the rest of Creation. How humanity has carried on up to this point has very little to do with harmony and peace. To get to a proper state of harmony and peace requires change.

Our planet is polluted. To make life convenient we took to using plastics big time. The result being that all manner of creatures are being damaged and killed by plastics, and we are all contaminated by microplastic from our food, from the water we drink and even from the air we breathe in cities. And we still make millions of tons of plastic every year while the politicians do nothing to stop them being made. Still, we must have convenience. Our way of life is all about consuming, and then getting rid of things. Even the environmental activists will have their iPhones and smartphones, and will happily replace them with the latest version and throw away the old model. Because we consume and throw away, the huge number of people all doing this is a problem for the planet.

Even our use of the internet affects the planet. Servers require electricity, and electricity production can result in CO2 emissions. Servers also produce a lot of heat, which ends up in the air and water. The production of cryptocurrency requires a vast amount of electricity. New ideas like this aren’t always great.

God has a plan to bring about peace and harmony. The bad news for humanity is that current way of doing things and living has to change to something better. So it is change or be changed.

An aspect of spirituality that people don’t get is karma, taking into account the big picture. To get an idea about this it helps to know about root races.

Humanity has been around for a very long time, and this is only a brief description of root races of humanity. There has been 5 root races so far, the Adamic, the Hypoborean, the Lemurian, the Atlantean, and the Aryan root races. Each subsequent root race had a more evolved chakra system. The last three still have an influence on what is happening now. There have also been sub-root races, when certain developments needed to happen in humanity. A few examples of these are the Romans, the ancient Chinese, the Native American Indians. Sub-root races come in with a certain spirit to do things in a particular way and have a particular effect on humanity and life.

People have many, many lifetimes, so they are likely to have had Lemurian, Atlantean and lifetimes in the Aryan age. So people have karma from these root races. (Remember with reincarnation, people get to experience a diversity of different genders, different skin colours, different cultures, different levels of wealth, intelligence, physical welbeing, family set-ups, types of personality, mental health, beauty etc. so what you are like now is different to how you have been.)

There is a new root race that is due to come in, the sixth root race, where humanity has a more advanced chakra system than the current set up, and so will feel and think and handle energy in a more advanced way to the current way. There are also going to be some very advanced souls coming in to move things along.

It is the end times for the Aryan root race. And all the karma from the Lemurian, the Atlantean and the Aryan has to go. This means it has to be gone through and balanced. Karma includes individual karma, group karma, national karma, regional karma and planetary karma. Rough news for anyone wanting a comfortable, predictable life. Good news for anyone willing to get into their heart centre, tune into their intuition, and do what seems to be right.

Rather like when you go inside a very old building, and can feel the atmosphere, the residue of the old energy of their activities, the people in the old root races left behind some energy which is like a residue of energy on the land, which needs to be cleaned up. So the energy of the land needs cleaning up and uplifting.

I have mentioned before in the blog about weather systems having devas in them that drive the weather to shift old negative energy. This is a big clean up time for the planet, and humanity may want to find ways to adapt to it.

People who have read the books of Meher Baba will have come across the idea that in the early twentieth century, the general mix of energy was 75% dark and 25% light, and people in those days were used to that. He stated that by 2069 the energy needed to be 25% dark and 75% light. That is a lot of change to bring about in about 160 years, affecting all life, including humanity in all ways. People orientated to the light will like it.

There have been times in the past when humanity has faced challenges and adapted. God has a plan to change a lot of things down here to vastly improve the energy, to bring in the next root race with its higher level of vibration, to bring through a higher level of spirituality (there are always more levels!), along with more peace and harmony.

It is going to be an interesting journey to get there.

Death, Spirituality, Reincarnation And Extreme Weather

I read from a few sources on the Internet recently that over 150,000 people die each day. That seems quite a lot of souls going to the inner planes each day for a rest, to review their life and prepare for the next life. Death is the soul dropping the body so it can go on the next step of its journey.

The number 150,000 plus deaths per day will go up for a while when there are things like epidemics, famines, droughts and natural disasters. Also this figure is human deaths; souls of humans dropping the physical shell and going on. It doesn’t take into account the souls dropping the physical forms of animals, birds, reptiles, fish and insects and so on around the world each day, and remember animals and other creatures also get caught up in natural disasters. For the esoterically minded we could include those souls in plant forms as those plants die or are destroyed, and souls going through the mineral experience.

These souls mentioned above are souls leaving the Earth prior to reincarnation. There are also souls coming into the Earth and taking physical form; there are births as well as deaths. In human terms, the number of births is greater than the number of deaths, and this is for a spiritual reason. Souls want to come here because of the intense spiritual energy at the moment and they want a taste of it.

I mentioned natural disasters as a cause of death. It isn’t the biggest cause over a long period of time, usually. Natural disasters grab the headlines as they are so dramatic.

A big component of natural disasters is the weather, and the weather is becoming more extreme.

There seems to have been more storms, tornadoes, hurricanes and typhoons, more flooding, and more high temperatures, winds and fires than before.

Some places which are susceptible to extreme weather and natural disasters may not be good places to live much longer if things become more intense (which is likely).

It is useful to take an energetic look at the weather. From an esoteric point of view air has air elementals in it like small devas. Then if you look at a hurricane you can see the big deva in it. The deva is on a mission and marshals the air elementals to do what the big deva sets out to do, and big devas can carry a lot of power. It is the same with typhoons.

Next time you see a tornado check out the deva and the smaller elementals within it. Notice the intelligence of the deva and try to get a sense of what it is aiming to achieve.

There are elementals in water as well, and in a storm the deva of the storm will orchestrate these water elementals along with the air elementals. With flooding there will be a big deva in charge of the flow of water.

With regards to fire, there are fire elementals. (In old esoteric literature these are called salamanders, not to be confused with the amphibian version.) There will be a fire type deva in charge of the fire elementals  in a fire. The deva drives the fire for its own reason and to achieve its own ends.

From a spiritual, energy point of view, the air, water and fire elementals, with the devas in charge of them are doing a job to change and improve the energy of the Earth. They clean up the energy. For this planet and for humanity to move forward old energy has to be cleaned up so the planet is energetically cleaner than even in the recent past.

The mental and astral energy they clean up can be slow frequency, unpleasant and very old, coming from the Lemurian, the Atlantean and the recent Aryan Root race periods of time. This energy can also be very recent. For instance, as an example, imagine what the vibe or energy of the place was before Los Angeles was built, or before New York was built, or London was built (have to go back way before the Romans arrived). Now get a feel for the energy of Los Angeles, New York and London right now. Which was fresher, clearer, healthier? Before or right now?

The same can be said for any built up human habitation around the world, with its layering of astral energy and mental energy as people exude or pump out their emotions and thoughts, and carry out actions filled with the energy of their intentions.

We live in a material age which is fairly selfish and animalistic. This age isn’t noted for a way of living based on principles and loving respect for others and the environment. Such an age would create a different astral and mental residue to the one humanity has recently been creating. Hence there is some clearing up to do, and this is one of the roles devas and elementals do. They aren’t concerned what humans think about this. The Earth needs to change, and they are making sure the change happens.

Who do you think has told them to clean up the Earth?

Karma, love and relationships

On social media there are posts from people who want a loving relationship, and they want to meet their Twin Flame, or their Soulmate. These are fairly recent fashionable labels in the history of spirituality. (It needs also to be said that some people are happy not being in a relationship and have no interest or need for one.)

The idea is that with a Twin Flame or Soulmate everything is going to be perfect. The connection is going to be deep, loving, spiritual and mystical, and give the person who wants this kind of relationship everything they want, when they want it, and how they want it. They are going to be so happy. All the time.

Sounds realistic?

It can be interesting to look at relationships through the lens of reincarnation and karma.

Before reincarnating back into the physical, a person will have gone through and reviewed their last life. With the help of spiritual helpers on the inner planes, and perhaps their guide, and possibly a spiritual Master, they will have a look at what they need to learn to develop spiritually. The spiritual helpers, the guide and any Master will be looking at the big picture which may include millions of lives into the future. They will help choose the karma for the next lifetime. They will help choose the karma that person will have including the karma to do with love and relationships. The aim of reincarnating time and again is to learn, develop understanding through experience, and so develop consciousness and become more loving. Life is a school. The spiritual helpers, guide and Master will help choose the gender and the personality to wear for the next lifetime. (You have many personalities through all the lifetimes and usually alternate gender according to the Law of Opposites).

There will be people in the person’s soul family that they tend to come down with into matter. They will come down at the same time to play their part in life. They will have the ideal karma, gender and personality to learn from as they come down as well.

The people you find around you have incarnated before with you, sometimes they have done this many times. Everyone plays different roles in different lifetimes, so two people will be siblings, parents, children, grandparents, friends and enemies. Many permutations of relationships get explored and karma either created or worked through.

When people reincarnate into physical reality again they (usually) go through amnesia so they don’t remember what was said on the inner planes and they don’t recall their last life. The amnesia helps because people just get on with life rather than have information and energy bleeding in that could interfere.

It’s all karma. Two of these people who came down round about at the same time will meet, gaze into each other’s eyes, fall in love and have plenty of energy going forwards and backwards between their chakras as their karma plays out and they form a shared timeline. It’s the best relationship ever, they think. It is not uncommon for two people to be married in past lives say twenty or thirty or so times. They really help each other learn about love and grow bit by bit in love and consciousness through those lifetimes.

Life, and karma is about learning, developing understanding through experience and then growing in consciousness and becoming more loving. The karma someone has, or two people have, may be just to have one relationship for that life. Possibly a very long relationship, where the personalities the souls are wearing match well, and where the personalities help them learn to love each other more.

The karma a person has may be for more than one relationship, perhaps several with all the other souls in the soul family that came down at about the same time. More than one relationship can be a preparation for the special, important relationship of that lifetime; people in the soul family help in the preparation for it.

There are so many different kinds of relationships, and so much to learn about love. It is worth remembering that the different scenarios are agreed Upstairs on the inner planes for each lifetime. Perhaps there was agreement Upstairs that when the two souls were in physical matter they would love each other and have a harmonious relationship, or perhaps they wanted to learn about making up after arguments, or they wanted to learn about self-love and get out of an abusive relationship, perhaps they wanted to learn how to forgive, or how to be compassionate, or selfless, or completely devoted, or mutually supportive and strong as a couple. Perhaps there is a need to learn (possibly lifetime after lifetime) how to look after the same person through terminal illness, or help them through addiction. Perhaps the relationship for one soul is to learn how to let in love, or to love.

Learning about love is definitely not always easy on the personality, even if there is a gradual increase in ability to love, and in consciousness along the way.

There is a difference between being in a relationship to get love and to let in love. There is also a big difference to getting love and being in a relationship to give love and be loving (though not at the expense of themselves, the exception being when one soul so loves another soul that they are willing to sacrifice their own physical existence to protect and save the other person).

Happy love and relationships.

How your karma and the Law of Opposites helps you grow

We reincarnate time and time again to experience life and grow in consciousness and understanding. Karma gives us experiences in Life through which our souls can learn and develop.

There are some spiritual laws that show up in karma that people have in a particular lifetime. The spiritual aim of the game of life is to get through the allotted karma for that life. One law is the Law of Saturation.  This means that a person gets saturated with one type of situation or experience in their life repeatedly until the soul is saturated with it. Or they may have as many lives as is required of a certain type of experience. For instance, a person can have quite a few lives (say, thirty or more) where they get to look after one particular person and develop their love and their heart centre. Once the person/soul has had enough then they move onto different karma with different situations happening.

Another law that applies a lot to karma is the Law of Opposites. This law often occurs in reincarnation. As an example, in one lifetime a soul can be in a female body, in the next lifetime the soul will be in a male body.

Another example, in one lifetime the soul can be in a personality that is very wealthy. In the next lifetime the soul can be in an existence where it experiences poverty. (The karma is different if a person has used their wealth for the benefit of others rather than being selfish). The Law of Opposites balances things out nicely, and to the soul it is all experience to learn from. That doesn’t mean to say that the personality enjoys the experience, as their attitudes and opinion of what they are going through depends on what the personality mind is like. If they have a “glass half-full” kind of mind, they will enjoy it.

Yet another example, a  person/soul can be an aggressor one lifetime and a victim in a future lifetime, quite likely with the same soul. Souls have tended to come into creation in soul families so a soul is likely to have come across the same souls repeatedly, but in different circumstances (friend, enemy, brother, sister, parent, child and so on). On the inner planes, a higher aspect of ourselves will arranging who comes down to do what and with whom. What goes on down here in creation is our karma being worked out with our fellow souls being involved in the goings-on as well.

The Law of Opposites can show up in other ways in the kind of lifetimes we have. Souls have lifetimes where they are linked to the dark lodge, where they learn about and experience lives getting up to no good. On the opposite, souls have lifetimes being linked to the white lodge, and doing good. The karma gets balanced out – usually.

Souls have lives where they are brilliantly clever, and lives where they are slow thinking. They have lives where the soul experiences what it is like to be physically beautiful and lives where they are not physically beautiful.

Where a soul has hurt or killed others in one or more previous lives, in other lives they do the opposite, in a healing capacity or saving lives, perhaps sacrificing their own lives to do so. In these ways, karmic debts are paid.

Souls will have lives where they are not interested in spirituality, and lives where they are (like this one if you are reading this).

There are many other examples of the rich variety of experiences and lives that the Law of opposites generates. What has been mentioned above is only a small part of what is possible, and doesn’t even include examples of lives a soul will experience in the mineral, plant or animal kingdoms.

Reincarnation, karma, gender and sexuality

At this moment in time issues to do with being female and being male, and sexuality are important as a lot of spiritual energy is flowing in to move them forward (which usually means a bit of a shakedown and a lot of karma and emotions gone through until a new balance is achieved). Gender and sexuality from a reincarnation point of view can give us a new perspective:

In human lifetimes, souls take on lives with different genders so that different karma can be worked on. The spiritual law of opposites can apply so that a male (genetically) will next life have a female (genetically) lifetime. A female will have a next lifetime as a male. This way a soul has experience as each sex, and of what it means to be that sex.  A soul will experience lifetimes where their physical anatomy is atypical of male or female anatomy.

A soul will also have lifetimes experiencing different sexualities, and lifetimes where they feel they are female in a male body, and a male in a female body, and so on, along with feeling male in a male body, and female in a female body. To the soul, this is all experience over the many, many lifetimes.

What would it be like if you are female now and suddenly remembered how you were as a male? Or how about if you are male now and remembered how you were, what life was like in a previous female life?

Usually people don’t get to remember their past lives or feel them. When a soul incarnates there is a process where the soul enters the energy field around the planet through the ring-pass-not. When the soul goes through this there is a forgetting, an amnesia so that any information that would interfere with this life being lived afresh is blocked. Because of this we don’t get to remember what it is like to be a female or be a male, or to have a specific sexuality or a lifetime when sexuality wasn’t important to us.

There is a lot in here if you read in between the lines that can be food for thought.

Reincarnation, karma and mental illness

More on karma on this blog:

Life is all about souls going on a spiritual journey in Creation, gaining experience and understanding, lifetime after lifetime, until God-realization, when the soul rejoins the Divine.

Humans are born, live and die many, many times in the reincarnatory process. Before being human, souls have many, many lifetimes in the mineral, plant and animal kingdoms. As souls go through these lifetimes they make karma. The karma can be positive or negative, it can be physical, astral or mental karma.

There are planes of consciousness in Creation, the zeroth (0th) plane, the first plane, the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth planes. Souls start off at the bottom of the zeroth plane and go up through the planes as they reincarnate.

Souls build up karma on the zeroth, first, second and third planes and then start to really balance and reduce it on the fourth, and particularly the fifth and sixth planes.

In the process of Life through many, many lives, souls experience a near infinite number of situations that Life can provide. In this way souls learn, gain understanding of Life, of themselves and of what God is not, and what God is. Souls also increase in consciousness.

In human lifetimes a soul experiences being sane and stable in some lives. In other lifetimes a soul will experience what we currently think of as a mental illness. All souls in human form will have experienced many mental illnesses in their lifetimes.  Suicidal thoughts, illnesses related to food, depression, anxiety, the various addictions, fear and panic attacks, psychopathic tendencies, sociopathic tendencies, narcissism, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, schizophrenia, dementia, amnesia, madness, and so on.

We have all been there in some lifetime. Mental pain can be more painful than physical or emotional pain. Because of love and compassion, it can be good to give companionship and support.

Future Positive for Humanity and Spirituality

great future 4

This planet earth and the rest of creation is always developing, always moving forward. All form, all animals, plants and minerals are continually developing energetically. As time goes on new physical forms are needed to hold the souls and be ideal vehicles for spiritual growth. So new lifeforms  come into existence, and older lifeforms become extinct. (This theme was written about in the Alice Bailey books in the 1920’s, and also mentioned in Meher Baba’s book “God Speaks”.)

Humans also continually develop. What is humanity now is energetically more developed than humanity in history, and in ancient history. Big shifts in human development come about with the emergence of root races. The first Root race was the Adamic root race. The second root race was the Hyperborean root race. The third root race was the Lemurian, then there was the Atlantean root race. This present root race is the Aryan root race. With each root there is a shift in the chakra that is the focus. In the first Root race the focus was on the lowest centre which is the base centre. In the second root race the focus of energy was on the sexual centre. In the Lemurian root race the focus was on the solar plexus as that was developed along with emotions. In the fourth root race, the Atlantean root race, the focus of development was the heart centre, though that root race didn’t end so well. The fifth root race focus in the Aryan root race was the throat centre. The fifth root race is coming to an end. This shows up by fragmentation of timelines and this manifests itself with what appears to be chaos, change, uncertainty, alienation and breakdown of societies. Usually a root race ends with 98% of humanity dying and the new beginning of the next root race starting through the remaining 2% along with a new type of human body appearing. The Atlantean root race ended dramatically with a flood.

As humanity moves into the sixth root race perhaps the transition can be gentler. There will be more root races in the distant future. As a simplification, each later root race can hold and can function with a higher vibration of energy than the root race before. Just for information, as a soul has many reincarnations, someone can have had lifetimes in the Adamic, in the Hyperborean, they could have had Lemurian lives (feel a strong draw to visit Australia, or Hawaii?), they could have had Atlantean lives (like doing transplants or genetic modifications?), as well as Aryan lives.

In humanity as in all of creation, as time goes on the body, or the form becomes more refined, and able to handle increasingly stronger spiritual energies. The form can have more chakras or centres than existed in earlier versions of the body. So your body, aura and chakras will function in a more complex and subtle way compared to the body of someone who lived a few hundred thousand years ago. When you next reincarnate, your new human body will likely be the new, sixth root race version with 100 or more chakras or centres, updated devas in the body, and other new features. So you will perceive, feel and think, and then behave and communicate differently to how you do now.

It is new energy that moves humanity and the rest of creation onwards. On the Divine Journeys outside of creation there are many forms of love, each higher one more intense, more virulent than the one before. The Divine Journeys hold the energy and what could be described as templates for how creation needs to be now and for the future. Bit by bit, these templates and energy are injected into creation so that there is a gradual progression and gradual change. Each bit of energy injected represents a future creation, so it can be thought of as futuristic energy.

Healing can be thought of as an input of energy, and often a taking away of old energy. What moves people on, what heals them, is the input of the love and energy from the Divine Journeys, though it is usually filtered, becoming much less intense as it comes down the planes of consciousness.

It isn’t energy linked to the old root races, like Atlantean energy or Lemurian energy, that brings about a forward growth. That just takes people sideways or backwards. Old or traditional energy techniques just don’t do it, though there might be a past life connection to the type of energy or old “healing” technique.

It’s always one wash after another of new energy that brings about healing and a forward movement.

The energy coming into the earth and into creation right now will be out of date in the next root race, and newer love and energy will be required to move Life on. So healing will be different again.

If reincarnation is true, how would you live your life?

Reincarnation cycle

The vast majority of people don’t have evidence that they ever had past lives. Only a small fraction of the population have any flashbacks or memory of previous lives. Past lives get mentioned and talked about in the media, but for most people, past lives and reincarnation are not part of their world view. Some people have explored past lives in workshops. A degree of healing can come from this as what happens in past lives (if they are true), can carry over into this lifetime. So if some grisly event occurred in a past life, it can still affect a person’s health in this one, and in future ones (if reincarnation is a fact). Then there are times when workshop goers like to hear that they were king or queen or ruler, or held an important position someplace. Though I’d say the most important lifetime a person is in is this one. In most circumstances, remembering past lives isn’t all that enjoyable. For instance, we have all had lives as animals. Nature programmes occasionally show just how cruel and painful those lives can be in a world with predators.

The concept of reincarnation isn’t strong in the Western world. The story goes that it was removed (in dubious circumstances) from what became the accepted knowledge of Christianity in the Council of Nicea. In this Council, the Roman Emperor Constantine stopped bloodshed by making the Roman Empire, Christian. Here were the beginnings of the Roman Catholic Church. Christianity then went on to shape religious and philosophical thought throughout Europe. The heritage of this was taken to other countries that European countries had dealings in. Reincarnation isn’t something people think about in places influenced by Christianity.

In the end it doesn’t matter what we believe about reincarnation, as Reality will do what Reality does. It is untouched by our beliefs or the limits of our understanding.

If reincarnation is true, then linked to this is death. Also linked is birth. Then there is karma.

In my own view of life, I take for granted the existence of Perfect Masters and the Avatar. These individuals work with creation, with karma and the lifetimes that souls reincarnated through.

There is very detailed information about reincarnation in a book called God Speaks by Meher Baba. There is a description of how a soul or dropsoul comes down from the Divine Journeys into creation. It describes how a soul taking the human path drops down to the bottom of the zeroth plane of consciousness, with literally zero consciousness, and progresses lifetime after lifetime, through gaseous then mineral lifetimes, then plant and then animal lifetimes, then the human lifetimes starting on the zeroth plane before really getting going on the first plane. At each type of life, there are approximately 8,400,000 lifetimes. With each lifetime comes an incremental increase in consciousness. (It is fair to say that a soul on the lower planes will think that they know everything, and say so. By the time they have made it up to the 5th and 6th plane, they realize they don’t actually know or understand much of life, the universe and Everything. That’s souls for you.)

Birth after birth, life after life, death after death, karma is built up (physical karma, astral karma and mental karma). In the 4th, 5th and 6th planes, the karma is worked through. Or it is burnt off by being around a Perfect Master or Avatar. In God Speaks, Sanskaras or impressions linked to lifetimes are mentioned, and that is another story.

Then eventually the soul, the person is made God Realized, and the journey back to the Source is made, and the soul has a great story to tell. After that? Probably a different adventure to go on. Souls are all about learning and becoming more.

Creation is big, so there are plenty of places to reincarnate into. We used to think that this universe was it. But now we know, theoretically at least, about the multiverse, due to string and membrane theory. That means there are many different situations in which life of various types can exist in. Present humanity on this earth doesn’t know all there is to know about life, about what is possible in a multiverse. In God Speaks it is said that there are 18,000 earths that humanity exists on. This earth though, is the only one which is physical home to the Avatar and the Perfect Masters, though their influence and work is felt throughout. We have all had lifetimes on other planets as well as this one, including human lifetimes.

With regards to reincarnating into a life, the soul places its energy into a newly forming lifeform. In humans, the soul’s energy goes into the heart centre to start with. The energy of the mother changes to accommodate the new life, and a continual and ongoing energetic communication occurs, as the baby grows, leading up to birth. This happens lifetime after lifetime. This is an absolutely massive topic to explore.

Death is also a massive topic. We have all died countless times, and there is usually huge fear in people about dying. There is a lot of healing and change to occur so that we even begin to see death as a state to go through onto the next life.

In Christianity it was called heaven.

We create karma with all of our thoughts, feelings, words and actions. Even the act of breathing builds karma. We build physical karma, astral karma and physical karma. Any karma we create we have to balance in a later lifetime. If everyone on earth knew that what they did needed to be balanced later, would this influence how we thought about life and what we choose to do?

The illustration  is a basic pictorial explanation of reincarnation. A more detailed illustration can be found in the book Godspeaks by Meher Baba, along with a very detailed explanation.
