“What do you want?” : the answer is…

Many moons ago I visited an Indian saint’s ashram in Southern India. It was always hot. Milk for tea came fresh from a cow, drinking and washing water from a well. It was spicy food throughout the day. There were lush green field with waterways and coconut trees. I wore an orange wrap on top, and an orange sheet wrapped around my botton half. It was the thing to do there. We had chanting, meditation, talks and ceremonies. I could feel the atmosphere was charged with spiritual energy, and the Swami would charge up with energy as well, and use it for our benefit, which he did a good job of. There was a lot of healing and change going on.

On reflection, I was never interested in the minor miracles that happened, or impressed by them. I just felt that is what happens with energy and some people can do that kind of thing. My perspective was that Perfect Masters can do much more far-reaching things in the world. As for the Avatar, well they can do whatever they need to on a creation wide scale.

For a few day’s the Swami kept asking me if I wanted anything, when we were out in the town, visiting a temple, eating a meal, and whenever any other opportunity arrived.

I thought to myself this was great, I could have whatever I want. So I thought about a new girlfriend, a new house, new car, and that kind of stuff.

Then I asked myself, well if I had all of that, what else would I want. Then the penny dropped as we say in the UK. I knew what I wanted. Tell you later.

What would you want?

What happened next was that I saw the Swami with a group of his devotees and went up to him. I said, “I know what I want. I want only that that God wants me to want.”

After that he sent someone for some oil, someone for water and someone for ash. He made a paste, then applied it to my forehead as he said a prayer in front of the devotees. It felt great.

Being Peaceful, Having Peace

As I started to think about Peace and started to explore the idea of Peace from different angles I saw a simple approach to it, and also realised how complex the issue could be if you wanted to look beneath the surface of the simple approach. Then beneath the complexity I was aware of a deeper spiritual nature of Peace.

How much peace we have in our life is based on a state of heart and then mind in how we relate to the world. (It’s always best if mind follows heart). Looking at the newsthere seems to be  a lot of turbulence and apparent craziness in the lives of people around the world. I can understand this from a spiritual perspective. There are old, old law timelines fragmenting and ending as a huge amount of spiritual light has been pouring into the planet. This spiritual energy has really sped things up.

A lot of old energy is being cleaned up, a lot of old karma, personal karma, group karma, regional karma, national karma and planetary karma is being brought up to the surface and balanced and resolved. It’s like clearing up the old karma to allow a new, clearer karma for life to be better. The news and people’s lives pretty much reflects what the process of balancing karma looks like. It is chaotic and painful often, and life changing. Balancing negative national karma between countries can end up as war, or economic war, cyber warfare or on a positive level it can be negotiation. However things happen, karma will be balanced.

As karma is got rid of, then the timelines of what has been established in the past fragment and disappear or improve. So the timeline of a bank or an oil company or other organisation ends and the organisation disappears into history. In fact history shows us that nothing lasts for ever and that cities, cultures, religions and ways of living and doing things have come and gone. Historical change doesn’t affect us emotionally. Change going on right now can feel up close and personal.

Change is a fact of life, driven by spiritual energies to keep on developing by clearing away the old energy and bringing in the new, cycle after cycle.

This destruction of old things and old ways can be thought of as the effect of Shiva energy, or the destroyer aspect of God clearing out the old, to make way for the new.

The spiritual energy coming in at the moment is also birthing the new. This is the creator energy of God. In time, what is created now will also need to be cleared and replaced by something better.

Right now, there are new concepts, new organisations, new technologies, new changes in the centres or chakras and the auras of people happening, and new timelines being birthed. There is new karma coming in with new opportunities and new ways of being and of doing things coming in.

In the midst of these changes there is a preserver aspect to God’s energy and so what needs to be here as far as God is concerned is preserved and maintained by this energy.

Trying to stay on and old timeline and hang on to an old way of thinking, of living or of doing things will work less and less as the incoming spiritual energy shreds the old timelines. Trying to hold on to old ways is a sure way to be unhappy.

At this moment in time, and for the foreseeable future, there is going to be turmoil while old karma is cleared up sufficiently to create a clear present and future without the drag of the past. The way to be happy is to let go of old timelines and get on the new one, and as the phrase goes, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. Why? Because when the Avatar was down here last all the decisions for the next three thousand years were made, and the timelines for the next one thousand two hundred years were set in place. It all comes down to trusting God, trusting that God has the best and most loving future in mind for all souls, who are all part of God in any case, and listening in to God through meditation or intuition about what needs to be done.

So though life might seem chaotic, turbulent, and unpredictable, and though we might hear, or see things in life and on the television or Internet that seem crazy, trusting, not worrying, and listening in or intuiting what needs to be done in life is one key to peace. God is in each and every one of us and we have a direct line to God, and high quality guides are available now to help out, though they usually help us to be self-reliant rather than weaken us through dependency. So we can feel the love of God, and the peace of God within us, and trust our feelings to know when we are on track or not.

No one ever got peace by running away from life. By that I mean the peace you get by being able to live with yourself. The turbulent, crazy, chaotic nature of life is throwing up in our faces situations and problems for others as well as ourselves where we might feel a sense of injustice or know something isn’t right. It might be something that is happening to us, or something happening to people halfway around the planet, or something happening to other living creatures or the environment.

We can choose to pay attention to the sense of wrongness or injustice that we feel and try to do something to set the situation right. We know that ignoring the wrongness won’t help us have a sense of inner peace, in fact it will stop us feeling that peace, and so we have to do what feels right to us deep down in our hearts.

Every situation is different, though for every situation we can meditate on our heart, feel the love, firstly offer up the situation (literally visualize it if it can be seen or as a coloured ball of energy being offered up in our hands or on a tray to God), ask for help to understand the situation and to be shown the truth of it, and then ask for guidance as to what step or steps need to be done to play our part in setting things right. We can also ask for assistance in dealing with the situation. a situation might trigger powerful emotions. If working through emotions and  forgiveness needs to happen we can ask to be shown how to do this, though action may still need to be taken to resolve a situation. (Energetically, resolution usually happens in more effective ways if forgiveness is a part of the process rather than if anger is the dominant emotion). Resolution and peace is a good outcome.

Resolving a situation may take a simple email or conversation, or it could take years or decades to set things right. If it is a long process, keep meditating, keep offering each step up in a loving way.

Spirituality is practical and there is often a physical result, a change for the better. Spirituality is about bringing more love, peace, harmony and beauty into the world and Universe in whatever way we can do that. Spirituality is very much about doing what is right in our hearts (rather than doing nothing).

On a personal level, saying to someone that in order to have peace all you have to do is close your eyes, take a few breathes, and put your attention on the middle of your chest where your heart centre is for twenty minutes and meditate, can work fine.

But what if someone had a traumatic childhood, or were abused or neglected or exploited someway, or had something awful happen to them at some point, or saw something that marked them, or they have something like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or depression?

Meditation would help for sure, but a clairvoyant look at their aura, and their centres or chakras would show the damage and indicate the healing and therapy they would require which would take time. Peace might be a long time coming. The peace would always be there in their heart centres, and head centres, it’s just the emotions and scars can intrude or stop people being aware of peace. The emotions and scars need to be healed.

As an aside, we will all have had many lives (if you accept reincarnation of the soul into physical form as true). The soul likes experience and isn’t that fussed if it is enjoyable or painful to the personality as it goes through karma. It is all experience and data for the soul to understand what life involves so it can increase its consciousness. Here’s an analogy. When we dream, what happens in the dream can seem good or bad. When we wake up, we are fine. People say we are living in an Illusion from a spiritual point of view. The soul comes from Reality, and comes into the Illusion called Creation. The soul projects some of itself and its energy into its incarnation in the Illusion, lifetime after lifetime, each time building more consciousness. When a physical form the soul inhabits dies as the soul removes its energy, the soul is still in existence. The soul doesn’t die. Then it reincarnates again. The soul keeps reincarnating until it literally wakes up and realises its Real nature, which is part of God, and the Illusion is no longer important. A soul has to go through this process in Illusion to realise this though. The waking up part happens with the help of a Perfect Master. For some people it happens to the soul while it is in a physical body, and the soul has been usually on the sixth plane of consciousness. (See earlier blogs about the Planes of Consciousness.) So they have Enlightenment about what they really are, and what life really is; Life is Illusion and they experience themselves as Real, if it is happening to them consciously, that is. People lower down the planes might get revelations and shifts in their awareness, but it’s not Enlightenment.

The point is the soul never dies and always exists.

So we will all have had lifetimes where there has been pain and hurt, physically, emotionally and mentally. Though in this lifetime we might feel fine. We also will have had pleasureable lives. It balances out.

So anyway, we are in Illusion until such a lifetime as we have Realisation. Up until that point, how to have peace?

If we are thinking angry and negative thoughts, and feeling angry and negative then we won’t have peace. Part of spirituality is thinking positive and loving thoughts (or having a totally silent mind which takes some doing), and feeling loving and feeling positive. About everything or at least about as much as we can about life.

When we see or hear something and think about it unconsciously, and consciously, we do it through our minds. Minds tend to be limited and process information in ways that depend on how the mind has developed. Minds don’t know everything, and don’t actually understand that much. If you have an opinion on a topic, you can try meditating (or praying) and offering the matter up to God, or your Higher Self, and you might find the understanding you get back is different to your own understanding of the matter.

Peace is already in our hearts. We feel that peace when we offer it to others and to the world, and act in peaceful ways as much as we can. I’m not saying it is easy, though it is something worth cultivating. The same goes for feeling loving towards everyone and the world, and for thinking peaceful and loving thoughts about people and the world.

Wiht love and peace in our hearts, and paying attention to what seems to be the most loving thing to do in any situation, we can attempt to live life in the best way.

An Essential Meditation on the Heart

The heart centres have in them such wonderful qualities like joy and courage as well as unconditional love. The energy in the heart centres can not only be felt by yourself, but they can radiate out and touch others, which influences their heart centres.

By focusing on the heart centres, you access this great energy, and help it grow. It has a positive effect on all of your body and all of your systems, and has a long-term on your mind. The heart centres just love.

The mind does have an effect on the heart, and the heart has an effect on the mind. Judgement against other people, holding a grudge, being continually angry with someone, and not forgiving people or situations does block the heart centres from expressing as much love and light as they could. Even beginning to forgive and let go has an effect and more love can flow. (Forgiveness is not the same as putting up with a situation, if change and letting go is required.)

In our head based society, meditation on the heart rebalances us so we become more and more 50% head and 50% heart. Too much heart and we end up being flaky. Too much head and we become intellectual and dry, missing out on so much of what it means to be human and missing out on the richness of life.

I’ve used the term heart centre rather than heart centres in the meditation, as a collective grouping in the meditation works fine. Otherwise, things could be overcomplicated for now.

Here’s the meditation:

In a quiet and comfortable place, close your eyes.

Take a few gentle and deep breaths, letting go.

Imagine that you can feel your heart centre in the middle of your chest. Imagine you can see it like a ball of light, shining away. What is glowing there is love.

Keep your gentle focus on that glowing love. Just touch it lightly with your awareness. As you do so, it grows and expands. The unconditional love in your heart just grows naturally at its own pace. All you have to do is simply allow it.

Enjoy the feeling of this glowing and shining love in your heart.

Each time you have a distracting thought, simply let it go and bring your awareness back to your heart centre.

Keep your focus on your heart centre and the love and light shining there.

You might notice the feelings of other qualities besides love.

For several moments left yourself feel and see the love in your heart centre, and feel it radiating out.

You might like to allow love to radiate out like rays of light to people you know, places you know, and situations.

Notice if you like, where the love shines out to. Let the love shine out for a few moments.

Now bring your awareness out from your heart centre a little. Imagine seeing some double doors in front of your heart. Let these doors close. Seal them with a white rose placed on them.

Now become aware of your body and your fingers and toes. Take a few breaths, and when you are ready, open your eyes.

If you want to, you can extend the time you do this meditation for 20 minutes is a good amount of time. Best not to do for longer than an hour maximum, as that can effect your ability to function in the world, and that is not the point of meditation.
