Why would business people want to develop their intuition, and what has it got to do with Richard Branson?

I updated some information on linkedIn, giving details of the book I’ve written on meditation, and mentioned about developing intuition and using it in everyday life.

LinkedIn is used by a lot of business people. I thought to myself, well obviously a business person would want to know what the future timeline for their business looked like, and know what they could do to improve it. So a business person wanting to develop their intuition would make sense.

I have met business people who follow their gut feelings and some with quite developed intuitions. Then I remembered something that happened years ago.

In my twenties ( a long time ago) I had written (pre-email) to Richard Branson asking to do do some work in one of his businesses so that I could gain experience. I had a good intuition, and a few days later I could feel him scanning me intuitively, his energy was unmistakeable as it was/is so powerful.

I got a letter back agreeing to me working in what now be called an internship, and my details had been sent on to a manager in Virgin London-based business. Unfortunately things fizzled out a bit as they didn’t know where to place me.

Still, I can see one reason why Richard Branson is so successful. He has a phenomenal intuition and can easily read people, which makes him an excellent judge of character, and means he surrounds himself with the best people. Awesome.

He can probably get a sense of the best business deals as well, and great ways of doing business.
